Do the Microsoft changes affect you?

If you have any of the following credentials, this is what you need to know/do:
  • MCTS – opt for the new MCSA certifications. New MCTS certs will not be released as of April 2012. Once the product version of your MCTS retires, your certification will become a legacy status.
  • MCITP – Microsoft will not update the MCITP certs for future versions of their products. Unless you’re looking at MCITP EA or SA, choose new MCSE certifications.
  • MCITP System Administrator and MCITP EnterpriseAdministratorAn MCITP EA/SA automatically gets the new Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA).
  • MCITP: DatabaseAdministrator 2008 and MCITP Database Developer 2008Upgrade to MCSE: Data Platform - upgrade with 3 exams. You will also get the MCSA: SQL Server 2012.
